- The first article presented in this issue is called “Teacher education in the PUCPR MATICE project”.
It describes the results of the experience in continuous online training of teachers in the MATICE (Methodologies for Educational and Information and Communication Technology-based Learning) program. This experience was centered on the pedagogical relationship in which the action of the educator becomes decisive. - In October 2007, an ICDE International Conference took place in Mexico.
The theme of this conference was: "The Metamorphosis of Distance Education for the third Millennium.Institutions, Programs, Technologies and Roles... the same thing" In this issue of Open Praxis you will also find sixteen of the papers presented during this event, further articles (mostly in Spanish and Portuguese) are available at the Conference website: http://www.tecdigital.net/UV/icde/main.php?lang=es - A unique international collection!
In 2007, six international scientific journals, including Open Praxis,launched a common call for papers on the theme « distance education and the right - or access - to education », with the objective of collecting a common set of references on research from all over the world in the field of distance education and of its impact on access to education. The final texts selected by the journals (peer reviewed) are available at http://www.distanceandaccesstoeducation.org/in their original languages, as a testimony of worldwide practices and researches on the role of distance education and e-learning for accessing education.
